SDG 11 proposes to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. By raising awareness about green space availaibilty in communities around the world, GreenUp plays its role in ensuring SDG 11.
SDG 15 sets out targets to protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss. Green spaces are a crucial aspect of urban biodiversity, and hence their protection will improve Life on Land.
SDG 9 calls for building resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and fostering innovation. In particular, Target 9.1 reads, "develop quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, including regional infrastructure...". By playing a role in facilitating local urban planning, GreenUp can help achieve SDG 9 by 2030.
Green spaces have a synergistic effect on the entire community as well as the climate. Therefore, GreenUp indirectly affects the targets of SDG 3: Good Health and Well Being and SDG 13: Climate Action.
Research has highlighted that green spaces reduce inequality - a feature of SDG 10. All in all, GreenUp promotes environmental sustainability keeping in mind the circumstances and wants of the 21st century.
